[ Thoma painfully experienced what Ayato did to Cloud, even if it was peripherally. That was absolutely worse. ]

[ Even now he's fairly sure Cloud's got a lot more brotherly-bullying ahead of him. ]

[ It softens his heart, as it ever does, to see both Ayato and Ayaka speaking more openly about themselves, however briefly it is. For the two of them, raised under the strict standards of the elders around them and the heavy expectations of the Kamisato lineage upon them both, moments like these could hardly exist in Inazuma. He's glad, to see that they could here. ]

[ Inwardly, he could never be grateful enough for this opportunity granted to them both, and sincerely hopes they'll be able to enjoy it as long as they'd like. ]

[ Letting Ayato's hand slip out of his own and without tea to fetch, he moves instead to pull Ayaka's seat for her, his smile easy and soft. ]

{ is tearing a bag open and flattening the sides really preparing anything? as that is all ayato is doing--there's definitely a lot less effort than either of the other two would have done, but he's careful to not jostle or touch the pastries as they tumble onto the paper as it folds out across the centre of the table. }

Mm, next time we'll invite him as well. For this though, I just wanted us to have the time to ourselves first.

{ there are only three of them here yet it's like he's tried to feed a small army--15 pastries picked out to choose from. there's a variety of lemon, strawberry, apple, chocolate, plain, honey, butter... the list goes on. }

(The scene changes to show Cloud tripping on his own shoe all of a sudden. Then goes back to the three after a second.) ]

Is there any kind that you want, Thoma? [ She'll take a seat after they've chosen their bread!! Ayaka would like for Thoma to have the first pick, then Ayato.

As for Ayaka? She'd take two, when it's her turn. Any flavour is fine since she's not picky, but she'll definitely get one that's not so sweet. Something to set aside and share with Cloud later.

Once everyone is seated, she'll begin preparing the tea, mixing the matcha powder and the water first. ]

[ ... Ayato is trying and it's the thought that counts. Thoma doesn't even grimace as the bread tumbles across the torn paper and very strongly holds back the urge to point out that this is enough bread for the rest of the day. The siblings (probably Ayato mostly at this point) were getting the hang of middle-ish class living and he was very proud of their efforts. ]

Apple for me, if no one minds. But if someone wants to split it, I'd be happy to.

[ He'll be moving to take his own usual seat next to Ayato, thought not before pulling the other man's chair out in habit. ]

{ he's doing his best--except he still isn't really trying all that hard at all. in fact, if the conversation hadn't gone the way it had he wouldn't have made an attempt at all. }

Not at all, take whichever you like. They did a good job with the strawberry cake before, so I'll try the strawberry one of this. I imagine it may be too sweet for your tastes anyway, Ayaka. I did choose some that would be a little more mild as well. The almond, butter or cheese ones may be more preferable?

[ Yes, that works! It looks cute too, so she'll try that! Hopefully Cloud will like the butter one.

Mixing the tea together and pouring it into their cups, she wonders now what she can bring to the table, in terms of a conversation topic. Ayato doesn't want to tell her how Thoma confessed, so it really shouldn't be something she's curious about anymore. :'( So she doesn't ask that. ]

Will the two of you be going out again after breakfast?

[ This is so much bread... please... ]

[ Settling in with the apple pastry he selected, Thoma very carefully avoids eye contact with Ayaka without making her feel like he's avoiding eye contact, primarily because his reasons for his next words have a lot in common with his confession. ]

he'll take the strawberry one he asked for as well, shifting into his seat that was previously pulled out for him. he manages to keep his face straight at thoma's answer, but his foot does nudge his under the table, hooking around it in response. }

Actually I have some preparations I need to make regarding my new job position. It will be easier to make notes here and make the post on the network, so I hope it won't be much trouble if I use of the apartment this afternoon?

It would not trouble me.

[ But she looks at Thoma and wonders if he means he'll be staying with Ayato by what he said. Or will he be going back to his own apartment? It's just next door, so it doesn't make much difference, but— ] Will you stay with Ayato, then?

[ She'll give them the privacy, if so. ]

[ Surely Thoma is blushing at the suggestion that he would like some privacy with Ayato after revealing the start of their relationship to Ayaka and no other reason. No other foot-hooking reason at all. ]

It wouldn't be a bother at all. This time I don't have much to prepare in advance, though I may need to wait around for responses given the content. If you get bored you needn't stay too long, it may take a while.

I didn't plan for much else today.

I'll do some errands today, then.

[ So they can have their privacy and Ayaka can be busy elsewhere! Today is a free day, technically speaking, since Ayaka doesn't have much commitments for the festival due today, but she can do some work for other things, instead! ]

It's quite difficult for me to get bored when in your company.

[ He does mean that sincerely; in part because he'd like to spend more time with Ayato, however he can, and in other part he could 'entertain' himself by... cleaning the Kamisato apartment again. ]

Don't feel you have to be out of the apartment, Ayaka. If there are things you need to do here as well, you wouldn't be in the way either.

And Thoma, I had no idea you found conversations regarding networking and business matters so interesting. { also don't clean when you said you were tired???? }

I... shall keep that in mind.

[ Though it seems she sounds hesitant. She really doesn't want to get in the way of the two of them! Ayaka values her own privacy, and she wants to give the same to her brother and Thoma. ]

Thoma does networking in Inazuma as well, doesn't he?

[ He can't outright say he wants to sleep in Ayato's bed though, clearly if Ayato is busy Thoma needs to keep himself busy as well- ]

Well... it never hurts to learn a bit more about things that could be useful. Being the 'fixer' of Ritou was more about getting to know more about my neighbors as well as helping out other foreigners who were having a tough time around the city.

[ It was also his method for getting a better reputation for himself in order to be able to serve the Kamisato household better, but that wasn't a detail that needed pointing out. ]

That doesn't necessarily mean he has to do it for work here, as well. Forming friendships is rather different than doing it for information or business transactions. But if you genuinely would like to help, I certainly wouldn't refuse.

[ She'd be right about that. He's running through the stock of two different apartments in his head, considering what extras from his own apartment he could provide if necessary, how long certain things will last at their current consumption rate... ]

I believe you're running low on cooking oil. I had also been planning to pick up some new fresh fruit soon, so if you'd like to choose some yourself it would be an opportune time to. There should be a fresh stock in today.

{ and as the conversation drifts to this, ayato merely stays quiet as he picks at the pastry he'd chosen. he has no idea what is in the cupboards or fridge, considering he doesn't really make anything for himself anymore.

the pastry does taste good though, enough that he feels as though it would be good to promote it for those going away to have a treat on the way. }
